DOW-UAP-PR058, "[CALLSIGN] (Mission) UAP"

Investigation reading

This Release 02 item is official Department of War/PURSUE manifest row 118. The manifest title is DOW-UAP-PR058, "[CALLSIGN] (Mission) UAP". Open Sky treats that title, including [CALLSIGN], (Mission), and UAP, as source/catalog wording rather than as a conclusion about the object's identity, the mission context, or anomalous behavior.

The selected row points to DVIDS video ID 1007723. The DVIDS page currently resolves to https://www.dvidshub.net/video/1007723/dow-uap-pr058-callsign-mission-uap, carries the same title as the manifest, and exposes a direct official MP4 for DOD_111719800.mp4.

The official release text says eight members of the U.S. House of Representatives requested access on March 6, 2026 to 51 potentially UAP-related records allegedly held by the Department of War and the Intelligence Community; AARO identified responsive materials on a classified network; and many of those materials lack a substantiated chain of custody. For this video, the source says AARO assesses the video is likely derived from an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform operating within the United States Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility, and says a user uploaded it to a classified network in June 2024. Those are source statements, not independent Open Sky findings.

What the released item appears to contain

The downloaded MP4 is a 10 minute, 48.3 second, 1280×720 video with grayscale/infrared-looking sensor imagery and title-carded segments. The source description says the media was digitally altered before upload to the classified network and is presented as received. The visible title cards and DVIDS description make the processing important to the reading: parts are labeled 8x speed, stabilized and enhanced, stabilized, sharpened, contrast enhanced, and later original clip.

The official source description divides the video this way:

  • 00:01–00:04 — a black title card reads approximately: [CALLSIGN] recording - 8x speed possible changes of shape stabilized and enhanced 38 secs.
  • 00:05–00:41 — an area of contrast remains centered in the frame; sensor-display elements enter and exit intermittently.
  • 00:42–00:45 — a black title card reads approximately: UAP recording original speed stabilized, sharpened, contrast enhanced 5 min.
  • 00:46–05:45 — an area of contrast remains generally near the center while the sensor cycles contrast modes multiple times.
  • 05:46–05:48 — a black title card reads approximately: UAP recording original clip 5 minutes.
  • 05:49–10:48 — the sensor pans to track an area of contrast, keeping it generally near the center; the overall video quality progressively degrades.

Sampled-frame review supports cautious language only. In the enhanced/processed portions, a recurring small high-contrast feature appears near the center or reticle. It often looks like an irregular bright patch with dark bordering or internal dark areas; in some samples it looks more compact, in others more elongated or lopsided. The source title card says possible changes of shape, but the footage is explicitly speed-changed, stabilized, sharpened, contrast enhanced, compressed, and sampled here, so the page should not treat apparent outline changes as confirmed physical deformation.

In the later original clip portion, the frame is wider and noisier, with a central reticle, black edge masks or interface blocks, horizontal banding, intermittent small bright/dark specks, and at least one elongated bright linear feature in a sampled frame around 07:30. The contact sheets do not establish whether those features are object, wake, surface feature, cloud/scene texture, sensor/display artifact, compression artifact, or something else.

PR058 sampled full contact sheet

Derived full-frame contact sheet from the downloaded official MP4, sampled from 00:01 through 10:47. The sheet shows the black title cards, close/enhanced sensor views, reticle/display overlays, and later wider-field frames with edge masking and degraded image quality.

PR058 center crop contact sheet

Derived center-crop samples from the same MP4. Cropping makes the recurring central contrast feature easier to audit, but it is not a motion analysis and does not identify the feature or confirm physical shape change.

PR058 title card contact sheet

Derived title-card samples. The text is visible source-presentation text and should be separated from scene content and analytical conclusions.

Source asset review

The selected manifest row uses DVIDS ID 1007723. The DVIDS request returned a redirect to https://www.dvidshub.net/video/1007723/dow-uap-pr058-callsign-mission-uap, then returned 200 and exposed the direct official MP4 source shown below. The individual MP4 was downloaded and inspected directly; the full Release 02 video ZIP was not downloaded as a substitute.

DVIDS page metadata observed during source review: title DOW-UAP-PR058, "[CALLSIGN] (Mission) UAP"; date taken 06.24.2024; date posted 05.22.2026 07:30; category B-Roll; video ID 1007723; VIRIN 240625-D-D0360-5765; filename DOD_111719800; length 00:10:48; location field (UNDISCLOSED LOCATION); courtesy source All Domain Anomaly Resolution Office.

The DVIDS length, MP4 stream duration, and manifest description align at approximately 10 minutes 48 seconds. The MP4 contains an AAC stereo audio stream, but the decoded stream measured as silent in this pass.

Source custody and provenance

Primary provenance for this page is the official WAR.GOV/PURSUE Release 02 manifest, the official DVIDS video page, and the direct DVIDS/CloudFront MP4 exposed by that page. The Release 02 video ZIP central-directory inventory lists video_2605_DOD_111719800_DOD_111719800.mp4, size 222,778,312 bytes, CRC32 0b6408b4. The directly downloaded DVIDS MP4 has the same byte size and CRC32, so this row does not show the direct-MP4-versus-ZIP size tension seen on some other Release 02 videos.

The timing/location fields still need careful separation. The manifest incident date is Not stated, the manifest incident location is INDOPACOM, the DVIDS page lists date taken 06.24.2024 and location (UNDISCLOSED LOCATION), the VIRIN begins 240625, and the source description says a user uploaded the video to a classified network in June 2024. Those fields should not be collapsed into an exact event time or geolocation without additional chain-of-custody documentation.

The source description says the media was digitally altered before classified-network upload and presented as received. The visible title cards add narrower processing labels for the segments: 8x speed, stabilized and enhanced, original speed, stabilized, sharpened, contrast enhanced, and original clip. Those labels are central provenance facts because they limit what can be inferred from apparent motion, shape, or contrast changes.

Graph context

The read-only graph context for this run did not return exact Release 02 graph nodes for this selected slug, DVIDS ID, or title. That absence is not a contradiction of the official release; it means this page is currently anchored to the official manifest, DVIDS page, and downloaded source media while Release 02 graph ingest catches up.

Any title-related, dataset-wide, or older graph records should be treated as leads only. This page does not create a finding, object classification, or anomaly claim from graph context.

Leads to check

  • Preserve and reconcile the source timing fields before timeline use: manifest incident date Not stated, DVIDS date taken 06.24.2024, VIRIN prefix 240625, and source statement that a user uploaded the video in June 2024.
  • Reconcile geography before map use: manifest location INDOPACOM, DVIDS location (UNDISCLOSED LOCATION), and source wording about a U.S. military platform within the United States Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility.
  • If a future raw or less-processed copy becomes available, compare it against the public MP4 and the Release 02 ZIP entry, especially around the title-carded processing labels and contrast-mode changes.
  • Seek platform, sensor, range, altitude, look angle, weather, ocean/terrain/cloud context, and nearby aircraft/ship/balloon/drone traffic before any prosaic or anomalous assessment.
  • Test prosaic and presentation possibilities before escalation: contrast enhancement, sharpening halo, stabilization artifacts, speed-change perception, sensor/display overlays, compression artifacts, background banding, surface or wake features, cloud/scene texture, glare/glint, bird/debris/balloon/drone/aircraft at unknown range, and apparent motion induced by platform or sensor panning.

Limits

This is a source-review draft, not a conclusion. The official release itself warns that many Release 02 materials lack substantiated chain of custody. The public MP4 does not include raw sensor data, calibrated telemetry, platform identification, exact geolocation, range, altitude, weather, traffic data, or independent corroborating observations.

The contact sheets are derived from sampled frames and are included only to make the source review auditable. They show source-visible title cards, sensor/display overlays, a recurring high-contrast feature, edge masking, and progressively degraded imagery, but they do not prove identity, anomalous performance, physical size, distance, or source-event validity.

Graph coverage for this exact Release 02 asset is currently absent in the read-only context used for this page. Until graph ingest, source normalization, and cross-case links are added, graph-based aggregation should not be used as evidence for this item.
